Dak & Bop - Korean Fried Chicken - Houston, TX

Image
Dak & Bop 1801 Binz St #120, Houston, TX 77004 Fried me, and fried me again! That's Dak & Bop for you.  Laid-back spot for twice-fried Korean fried chicken, plus craft beer & a casual atmosphere. My Hubby and I arrived there around 5pm. Wanted to beat the mad house (heard this place gets crowded around 6:30pm). Because 1.) Takes about 15 - 30 minutes for the chicken to come out 2.) Place is pretty small 3.) Hype is real on Yelp.  We ordered the Kimchi fries, Bao, and Wings.  Let's just say the Kimchi Fries was alright. TOO MANY TYPE OF FREAKIN' SAUCE! The fries itself was alright. I rather eat MickyD's fries :)  Chicken Bao was good! Again, stop it with the SAUCE! It's so overpowering. Especially the Hoisan sauce. GAHH. Overall, the baos were good!   The WINGS! Yes, so good! We ordered the Soy Garlic and Sriracha Honey Lime. As you can see the extra crispiness because they double fried it. The Soy Garlic was really good. Sweet t

BB's Cafe - Houston, TX

BB's Cafe 6154 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77057 Local Tex-Orleans chain serving po' boys, gumbo, fried seafood & more in a casual setting. Stumbled upon this restaurant because House of Pies was packed! We had to be at a shoe raffle before 1 PM, so we walked across the parking lot and went into this cafe. Service was a bit slow, but the food was amazing! My partner got the po boy's and I got the fried platter.  Should've tried the crawfish since they're in season right now. Didn't want to get messy since we had to be a shoe raffle. (We took an L) Next time.  I forgot what kind of Po Boy this is. But the meat was super soft and it was huge! We could've shared one. He really enjoyed it and ATE IT ALL! What a monster. Even ate half my fries. Double monster! Fried Shrimp & Oyster Platter. The fries were AMAZING!! Super crunchy. We could not stop picking at it. The batter on the shrimp was also amazing. The ratio amount was p

Canteen Tap House and Tavern - Breckenridge, CO (Keystone Light, Please)

This past week I went to Keystone, Colorado for a friend's 29th birthday. We snowboard for 3 days and only went out one time for dinner. CANTEEN TAP HOUSE AND TAVERN   208 N Main St, Breckenridge, CO 80424 How did we find this place? Through Yelp. Highly praised and rated!  The food was bomb, but the drink was weak. I ordered the Fruity Mojo and it tasted like bland water. Had to drown it, can't waste drinks. I wasn't hungry, so for my entree, I ordered The Wings appetizer. Just Naked with a side of Ranch and BBQ. BBQ sauce was alright, but the Ranch was delicious. The wings itself was crispy and juicy, just how I like it.  My partner ordered The Hoss Burger  -- bacon, cheddar, house bbq, and onion rings. He said that it was delicious and he enjoyed it! He also won my heart by giving me his pickles! Best pickles are the bread and butter kind. I just love me some pickles.  Would I recommend this place to someone, Yes if they're hungry and ju
