Breakfast Brunch Cafe - Cypress, TX

Image
Breakfast Brunch Cafe 9955 Barker Cypress Road Suite 110, Cypress, TX 77433 On Easter morning, we went to the earliest mass time, so we were able to beat the brunch crowd. We arrived around 8:30AM and there was already a few people there. We were seated right away. YAY. We opened the menu and realized this breakfast place was quite expensive! Luckily, we were in our Sunday’s best, so we felt like we deserved this expensive breakfast. First, we ordered our drinks. I ordered the Caramel Latte. The husband ordered the Dirty Chai Latte, BUT THEY RAN OUT OF CHAI!!! So, he ordered the Salted Caramel Latte. And guess what….they ran out of little plates for the cups! HOW? Second, we ordered our food. I got the Buttermilk Pancake ($11.00). It comes with two homemade buttermilk pancakes served with two slices of thick cut bacon and two over easy eggs. The bacons were indeed THICK. The first piece I ate was delicious. Had the crunch taste to it! The second piece was BLAH! Drie

Bubble Tea House - Houston, TX

Image
Bubble Tea House 1560 Eldridge Pkwy #162, Houston, TX 77077 Why don’t we have a place like this in Cypress?? Variety of teas, smoothies, slushies, and even fresh juices! They even have food!  I ordered the Sea Salt Black Tea with Lychee Jelly.  My brother and husband ordered the Vietnamese Coffee and Lychee with Lychee, Mango, and Apply Jelly. They also ordered the Mild Popcorn Chicken. The drinks itself were good! Really good! Not too sweet and not too plain! Just how I like my drinks :) The popcorn chicken was a bit spicy. Didn’t think mild would be that spicy!  Overall, I would definitely come back to this place! Very nice atmosphere to hang out with friends or just chill. Plus, they have comfy seats!

Golden Dumpling House - Houston, TX

Image
Golden Dumpling House 9896 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77036 Where do I begin? This place is amazing!  1. Cheap 2. Homemade 3. Those little dumplings feel up your tummy 4. Menu is Simple Every time we come here, we only spend about $12 - $15 for TWO PEOPLE! Say what?!!? The amount of dumplings per dish is crazy. Usually it comes in 10 or 18 dumplings. How many dumplings can you eat?! Twenty for me...haha. Don't judge.  When you get your dish, ALL the dumplings are flaming hot. I just want to devour them all when they hit the table. We had wait a couple of minutes for them to cool off.  In the corner of the restaurant, there is a station where you can get your own sauce. They have Soy Sauce, Vinegar, and Soy Sauce with Vinegar. I just stuck with the basic soy sauce. You can also add some chili oil and grab a small soup bowl if you want.  Bun with Pork and Shrimp Mix The lady told us this was the soup dumpling, but I think she's wrong. Because the inside h

The Melt - Grilled Cheese - Houston, TX

Image
The Melt 10111 Louetta Rd Suite 800, Houston, TX 77070 Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. This place is not some ordinary cafe. They specialized in CHEESE.  We knew we had to go try it! Because I love cheese and farts.   "WIPE THAT CHEESY GRIN ON YOUR FACE" Mac Daddy Grilled Cheese I had to get it. And of course because of the name. I love me some Big Macs from MickyD's. And this one is the Mac Daddy. To be honest, it was meh. I love the texture of the bread, was crunchy. I didn't like the inside. The sides of the mac and cheese were a bit dry and it was cheesy enough. Bacon was alright, and I didn't taste the onions. THE FRIES THO! They were bombdigity. Thin and crispy. Just how I like it. Pickles were an added bonus. I love me some pickles. Big, small, wide, slice, halves. Love it all.  Steak & Cheese Grilled Cheese Delicious. Tasted like a Philly cheese sandwich, but with a crunch.  Cookies & Cream Milkshake Magica

Pho Binh - Cypress, TX

Image
Pho Binh 12312 Barker Cypress Rd #1000, Cypress, TX 77429 Apparently, there are 7 locations for Pho Binh. So, it must be good, right? I can't tell you if the pho is good because I don't ever get pho at a pho restaurant. Why do you ask? Because MY MOM MAKES THE BEST PHO!!! Yup. I either opt for rice or vermicelli.  Banh Mi Thit Nuong with an Egg An A+ for this Banh Mi. The bread was toasted well. There were sufficient amount of ingredients inside. I expected a full baguette (round at the end), but I think they used the good kind of bread.  Thai Tea F- for this drink. WAY TOO SWEET. I do not recommend it. Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio Delicious. The amount of pork in this dish is phenomenal.  Cooked perfectly. It was not too dried! Was able to taste the juiciness and the smoked/grilled tasting. The egg rolls, on the other hand, did not taste all that great. I believe this was a shrimp egg roll. Didn't have the nice crunch and the filling inside was not sat

Alicia's Mexican Grille - Cypress, TX

Image
Alicia's Mexican Grille 26326 Northwest Fwy, Cypress, TX 77429 Something about Tex-Mex that always steal my heart. Just give me chips, guacamole and refried beans for the rest of my life. I can eat that all day everyday. The funny thing is that I don't really like enchiladas or tamales. I'm the simple burrito or fajitas kind of girl. haha.  This place is quite huge. Tons of seating area, but it seems like they cater to large groups.  Señor Burrito  12-inch flour tortilla filled with ground beef, refried beans, Monterey Jack cheese, then topped with ranchera sauce with Steak Fajitas.  I would give this Burrito a 7/10. There was not that much fajita in this burrito and the rice was really dry. However, the refried beans were bomb! Also, there were too much tortilla. I'm not a huge fan of soft tortilla.  Alicia's Steak He ordered it Medium. He liked it. I didn't so much because I like my fajitas to be tough. But that is just personal pr

Cypress Breakfast House - Cypress, TX

Image
Cypress Breakfast House 12344 Barker Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77429 "What should we eat," that is the number one question my husband ask me every time we leave Church on Sundays. We get out of Church around 10:15 AM. Such an awkward time, since not many places open until 11:00 AM. The only restaurants that are open are the one serving breakfast foods. So, BRUNCH IT IS. I'm always trying to find a breakfast place that is not a chain. I'm so over IHop, Denny's, and Egg and I.  Any suggestion, please help. But, for right now,  Cypress Breakfast House is my go to brunch. Country Skillet 3 Scrambled eggs with diced ham, onions & bell peppers topped with cheese, sour cream & chives $8.75 Served on Bed of Skillet Potatoes and Toast on the side. No going to lie, they overdid it on the onions. Plus, 3 scrambled eggs is a lot for me. I only can eat a max of 2 eggs. Half way through my meal, I was getting so tired eating it. I ate the potatoes and took

Famous Ramen Tatsu-Ya Finally In HOUSTON, TX

Image
Ramen Tatsu-Ya 1722 California St, Houston, TX 77006 The famous Japanese soul food in Austin finally arrived in Houston. I did indeed tried it in Austin, but I was too hungover to remember it. LMAO. The friends that were with me said they liked it, but my partner said it was 'aight.' So, I decided to give it another try with my bro and cuz. Ramen Tatsu-Ya is located in Montrose. They do have a very, very small parking, but it's always packed. Street parking would be best. The one in Houston is the same designed as Austin. You order at the beginning and they tell you were to seat. Then they bring our your food.  I ordered the TONKOTSU ORIGINAL. Consists of  pork bone broth, chashu, ajitama, woodear mushroom, scallion.  Let's just say that is was indeed "aight"  I still prefer Tiger Den over this place. No "wow" factor in this bowl of ramen. Would I come back? Naahhh I'll continue to search for better ramen in Houston.

Bluewater Seafood - Houston, TX

Image
Bluewater Seafood 12914 FM 1960W Houston, TX 77065 Place is always packed! I hate how it's on 1960 (one of the congested intersection in North Houston) and the parking is alright. I guess it's not as bad as Montrose and Downtown Houston parking.  I ordered a dozen raw oyster, 2 pounds of Crawfish and my partner ordered the Redfish and 3 Diablos.  I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the raw oysters. The raw oysters were okay. They were small. I like how they were cold, but I didn't like how they were small. Were they sandy? No, not at all. My partner didn't like them. He said it didn't taste fresh. And I agreed with him.  The crawfish were spicy! But were still good. They were a mixed of big and small. I still pick inner Houston crawfish then this one. But this is the best 15-20 minutes drive to get. The Redfish with 3 Diablos. The redfish was dry and flat. I didn't really like it. Plus it was completely plain. The s
