Breakfast Brunch Cafe - Cypress, TX
On Easter morning, we went to the earliest mass time, so we
were able to beat the brunch crowd. We arrived around 8:30AM and there was
already a few people there. We were seated right away. YAY. We opened the menu
and realized this breakfast place was quite expensive! Luckily, we were in our
Sunday’s best, so we felt like we deserved this expensive breakfast.
First, we ordered our drinks. I ordered the Caramel Latte. The
husband ordered the Dirty Chai Latte, BUT THEY RAN OUT OF CHAI!!! So, he
ordered the Salted Caramel Latte. And guess what….they ran out of little plates
for the cups! HOW?
Second, we ordered our food. I got the Buttermilk Pancake
($11.00). It comes with two homemade buttermilk pancakes served with two slices
of thick cut bacon and two over easy eggs.
The bacons were indeed THICK. The first piece I ate was
delicious. Had the crunch taste to it! The second piece was BLAH! Dried and
plain. The eggs were good, but the pancakes were alright. I like my pancakes to
be cooked a little bit longer. It was toooo soft for my liking.
Husband ordered the Chicken and Waffles ($15.00). The
chicken tenders were good! It was nicely fried and had a touch of rosemary to
it. Gave it more flavor. The waffles, on the other hand, wasn’t so good. It was
soft like the pancakes. Husband also agreed that the waffle needs to be cook a
little bit longer. Waffle needs to be brown on the outside. Am I right, or am I
right?
The food was good, but for the price, ehhhh. During the
whole time we were there. We witnessed two plates being brought back to the
kitchen. It all happened back to back. One couple had to return his dish
because his egg was not pouched. He ordered the egg benedict. While I was
people watching, the server was not very forgiving. She went to her other
coworkers and started to get agitated. Those things should be done behind
closed doors. Not in the open where other guest can see. The couple told her to
cancel the order, and they left. 5 minutes later, another table (family)
received their food and they weren’t too happy. The one kid did not enjoy his
Banana Foster. Even the dad and the other kids tried it, and I think maybe
because the toast was burnt? But, they called a server over and returned the
dish back.
Another thing we observed and we couldn’t wrap our fingers
around….who was the runner and who was the busboy? The same group of guys
cleaned the table AND served the food…..WHAT? I hope they washed their hands in
the back…..
